Satsuma love and money off

As I was mooching around the shops today I happened to notice that 'The Body Shop' was having a sale. Yipeee, I thought, and hurried right in.

I happen to be in love with the satsuma body butter. The scent is just gorgeous; it's so yummy and fresh.

But today I thought I'd try the shower gel and soap, as I haven't bought them before. They smell just as wonderful as the body butter so I have high hopes for them.

Then, I noticed that my till receipt included a £10.00 off voucher for my next purchase when I spent £25.00 or more, between the 2nd July and 31st July.

Now, spending £25.00 in 'The Body Shop' isn't a hard thing to do - especially when they're going to give you £10.00 off - which means of course that you're only going to spend £15.00.

That's too good to pass up, isn't it?

I think I shall be hot footing it down to the shops in July to stock up. I may even buy some strawberry body butter, as that's my second favourite.

Gold Star Hall of Fame Award #2

I love hair colour. I do. In 30 mins (your miles may vary) it takes years off me.
And that is something that I approve of. :)

Grey hair on a man, is fine. They can get away with it. But on me, those few grey roots that are the bane of my life, age me.

When I look in the mirror and see them, I'm suddenly depressed. I know it's weird, but it's true.

So every few weeks I reach for my trusty box of hair colour and as if by magic, my grey hair is banished to an alernate universe... maybe. And I'm left with shiny, healthy-looking, long brown hair with no grey.

And instantly my mood improves. I feel better about myself.

For some people, their instant pick me up is a favourite perfume, new shoes, or having their nails done, but for me, it's getting rid of awful grey hairs.

My hair is naturally dark brown and I intend to keep it that way.

And I can, thanks to this baby...

I've been using Nice 'n Easy 765 for years and I love it. It's quick, easy, the perfect colour for me and it works.

So, yes, this absolutely does deserve its place in the Gold Star Hall of Fame.

*smooches* I love's ya baby!

Behold the Pretties

In my lastest online browsing binge I discovered a bit of a mixed bag of pretties that come from ASOS Curve, New Look, Evans, Dorothy Perkins and Accessorize.

Which one is your favourite?

 £25.00
The black and white are timeless, and the coral and blue are great summer colours.

~oOo~

£28.99

I think this one's my favourite. I like the shape, the fabric and the design.

~oOo~

£59.50

But, then again, this one is rather pretty too.

~oOo~

£59.00

Well, what can I say about this gorgeous little bag? It's seriously grown up and I want it. Let's just leave it at that, shall we.

~oOo~

£40.00

This is such a fun bag. It's a great holiday bag and it's sure to raise a smile. Just adorable!

Feather Earrings - an 'On The Fence' Production

I say 'On The Fence' because I am absolutely, 100% undecided about feather earrings.

Yes, they are cute and yes they come in every colour and size known to woman, but... can I wear them without looking like a cat attacked and killed two small birds that were for whatever reason, hanging from my ears?

Okay, don't answer that.

What I mean to say is that I have two set of feather earrings, one black pair with glitzy bits, and a deep red pair. They're both gorgeous, but I don't wear either of them. Ever. But they do look very pretty hanging from my jewellery mannequin.

Today, I almost bought a third pair. They were brown toned and very pretty. I hummed and hawed for a while, then common sense took over and I put them down and walked away.

I want to go back tomorrow and buy them. Luckily I'm at work and can't.
Did I say luckily?

So, I ask myself, why don't I wear feather earrings?

And the answer comes back... I don't know.

I can't come up with a good reason. I know that they're not really an everyday thing, but even on nights out I tend to opt for the more glitzy look. Plus, if I'm on a night out I wear my hair down and I think that feather earrings would just get lost in it. Sort of like nesting birds.

Maybe I just need a little bravery to wear them? Need a little courage to hold my head up and say, why yes, yes I am wearing brightly colured feather earrings, and they look good.

I think I need to bite the bullet and jump, and trust than my parachute will open.

Next time I go on a night out, I'll wear my hair up and instead of reaching for those sparkly silver hoops, I'll reach for a pair of my feather earrings. Because I have nothing to fear but fear itself. And spiders.

Well, I guess that means I'm going to the shops after work tomorrow.

That is... unless I chicken out.

Gold Star Hall of Fame Award #1

I'm no mathematician but I'd guesstimate that there are a million different types of hand creams, and let's face it, even though most of them claim to work miracles, when it comes down to it, they actually… don't.

You can spend an absolute fortune on a high-end hand cream and be left not only out of pocket, but also somewhat disappointed that it doesn't exactly live up to the hype.

Oh, no! Really? Shocker.

But, look on the bright side. The consolation is that it probably smells nice. And so it jolly well should for the price you paid.

Well hold onto your hats, because I have a little announcement.

Wait for it… wait for it…

I have found a hand cream that actually does what it says it does.

It works. It softens the skin. It absorbs easily. It leaves your hands feeling soft and moisturised.  And as an added bonus, it smells nice.

Now, you're probably thinking that this is where I tell you it costs upwards of £50.00 aren't you?

Well, it doesn't. It's affordable.

*waits for you to pick yourself up off the floor*

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Hall of Fame's inaugural presentation of its first Gold Star.

*drum-roll*

And the Gold Star goes to…

It's a seriously good hand cream. And it's one that I will definitely be re-purchasing.

*applause*

Shamelessly Pimping 'indiechicjewellery'

Have I mentioned that I'm rather fond of ebay? Well, I am.

It's a site that is chock-full of little hidden treasures, such as super cute jewellery that you just can't find on the high street – or if you can, it's three times the price.

So, jewellery that's cute and cheaper than the shops? What’s not to love about that?

On one of my more recent waltz's through ebay's many, many pages I came across indiechicjewellery, and was really impressed with their collection of super-cute and quirky costume jewellery.

Straight off, let me say that I am in no way shape or form affiliated with indiechicjewellery. I just think they have some really cute things and I wanted to share the pretties with you.

Now, they have rather a big selection of rings, necklaces and earrings. I can't list them all, so I'm just going to show you a few of my favourites. I eventually managed to narrow it down to six pieces.

So here they are, in no particular order...

There now, didn't I say that they were cute?

The only trouble is, I can't choose my favourite.

Dresses @ onestopplus.co.uk

Following on from my earlier shoe post - I thought I'd hunt out some summer dresses. But where to look? There are so many choices out there.

Well, after a bit of a hunt, I stumbled across a website I hadn't heard of before; onestopplus. It has fashion in sizes 14 - 36, so something for everyone, yes?

With my curiosity piqued, I thought I'd have a rummage through their dresses and find out for myself. These six are my favourite finds.

Well, after my rummage, I think that yes, they do have something for everyone. What do you think?
